Buying a 2017 Corolla for everyday commuting depends on the particular car and your routine, not its model reputation alone. Assess driving position, visibility, parking and air conditioning, and understand the service history before committing. Start with the commute you actually make

Build a commuting budget from your own evidence

Separate the purchase price from monthly running costs. Estimate fuel from your distance, substantiated consumption where available and the current fuel price, then add your parking, road charges, insurance and necessary maintenance. There is no single monthly bill or guaranteed resale percentage for every example.

Keep a separate allowance for work the assessment establishes is needed, supported by a written quotation after diagnosis. The cheapest purchase may not suit you if its condition or required repairs remain unclear.
